Alum Hoists MLS Cup

An Aggie helped hoist the Major League Soccer championship cup over the weekend.

Max Arfsten played as a member of the Columbus Crew team that defeated Los Angeles Football Club 2-1 in the MLS Cup final Saturday (Dec. 9). The team celebrated with a parade through Columbus, Ohio, today.

“Proud to be a part of this family,” Arfsten after the win.

Arfsten, a forward, was . His first goal for the team came against Atlanta United, and he went on to score twice more this season.

He previously played for the San Jose Earthquakes’ reserve team, and was named Big West Offensive Player of the Year during his last season in 2021.

Social media users were quick to remind Arfsten of his ΢Ƶ roots, with one joking on : “Practice starts at 5:15 a.m. in Hickey (Gym) tomorrow, be there.”
