Conference for Pest Managers Is Dec. 18

Pest managers are invited to attend a daylong conference at ΢²ªÊÓƵ on Thursday, Dec. 18. The conference should be useful for individuals responsible for controlling pest outbreaks, which includes recommending applications of herbicides, insecticides and fungicides on farms, orchards, vineyards, golf courses, public lands, warehouses and other such sites.

Sponsored by the ΢²ªÊÓƵ College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, "Pest Science Conference 2003" will feature presentations on new regulations for pesticides and water quality in agriculture; West Nile virus; new pesticides and new application techniques.

Speakers come from the ΢²ªÊÓƵ departments of Entomology, Plant Pathology, Nematology and Vegetable Crops/Weed Science, and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board.

Demonstrations and hands-on activities will also be featured during breaks and lunch.

The conference starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:10 p.m. at the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. The cost of the conference is $50 and includes lunch and handout materials. Parking is $6. A program and registration information are online at .
