Claudia Morain has been named News Service director in University Communications.
Morain has been with the ΢²ªÊÓƵ News Service since 2007, when she joined it as a senior public information representative covering law, management, education, the humanities, arts and social sciences.
Before coming to the Davis campus, Morain served for five years as a senior public information officer at the ΢²ªÊÓƵ Health System. During her 20 year journalism career, she was a staff writer, editor or producer at more than half a dozen media outlets, including the San Jose Mercury News, Orange County Register and Los Angeles Daily News.
Morain has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Washington, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude.
