The group Women in Sciences and Engineering held an open house Sept. 21 to welcome Chancellor Linda Katehi, left, to campus. Donna Davies presented a gift—a tape measure and leveler—to Katehi on behalf of other engineering advisers like herself. It symbolizes, Davies says, ΢²ªÊÓƵ’ continued commitment to encouraging the success of women in engineering and the sciences. A professor of electrical and computer engineering who holds 16 patents, Katehi recently made national news on the overall issue of engineering education.
