ORG CHART: Johnson Named Director of Institute for Pandemic Intelligence

Christine Kreuder Johnson has been named the first director of the , established last year to confront ΢Ƶ’ Grand Challenge on Emerging Health Threats.

Johnson, professor of epidemiology and ecosystem health in the School of Veterinary Medicine, and associate director of the One Health Institute, has served as a champion of the since its inception in 2022.

“Dr. Johnson possesses unparalleled knowledge of how to mitigate pandemic threats,” said Jonna Mazet, vice provost of . “She is the ideal person to lead the university’s work in building a collaborative, transdisciplinary network to prepare for impending threats to health.”

Johnson is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, a fellow of the  American Association for the Advancement of Science and a U.S. Science Envoy for the Department of State.
