 Animal scientist Edward DePeters, winner of the 2009 ΢²ªÊÓƵ Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement, talks with State Assemblymember Mariko Yamada (D-Davis), middle, and Jason Murphy, director of state government relations and advocacy for ΢²ªÊÓƵ, at a May 7 dinner honoring DePeters. The $40,000 teaching prize, funded by the ΢²ªÊÓƵ Foundation, is believed to be the largest undergraduate teaching prize in the nation. DePeters has given the money back to the university to support the education of animal science students.
