Nathan Trauernicht has been promoted to interim fire chief for ΢²ªÊÓƵ, effective April 16. He currently serves as the assistant fire chief of operations and training.
The current fire chief, Joe Perry, is retiring on April 15.
Trauernicht has worked as a firefighter since 1993 for units across the country, including in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Florida and Washington. His most recent work prior to arriving at ΢²ªÊÓƵ in 2008 was serving as the interim fire chief for Oroville.
Trauernicht earned his undergraduate degree in fire protection and safety engineering from Oklahoma State University. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
