From Slippery Mess to Success

Olive trees at ΢��Ƶ, the world’s No. 1 agricultural school, go back a long, long time. But the campus didn’t get into the olive oil business until 2005 when necessity became the mother of invention.

Along Russell Boulevard, some of those old trees had become a problem: Olives fell on the Russell bike path, which became an oily, dangerous mess. Bicycle riders could slip, and the riders could go flying.

NEWS BRIEFS: Considering the Future of Our Library Space

The University Library has launched a visioning process, to continue through fall quarter, to reimagine the future of the Shields, Carlson Health Sciences, and Physical Sciences and Engineering libraries.

Through a yearlong, campuswide conversation with students, faculty and staff, the library will assess how its physical space, technology and services can best serve the ΢��Ƶ community and support student success in the 21st century. Opportunities to share ideas will include focus groups, town hall meetings, and surveys of faculty, students and staff.

Picnic Day Olive Oil

The Olive Center will have three olive oil tasting table locations and two special deals on Picnic Day, this Saturday (April 16): $10 per bottle of Gunrock, Silo and Roasted Garlic olive oils, and $15 for Estate (made completely from olives grown on campus). Here are the locations:
