Senate and Federation Honor 15 Top Academics

The Academic Senate and Federation have presented their top academic honors for 2024, and the faculty recipients are being showcased not just for their expertise, but also for their teaching, mentorship and public service.

In all, 15 faculty members have received awards from the two groups at ΢��Ƶ.

The Academic Senate and Academic Federation have chosen their award recipients for 2020, members honored for their teaching, research and public service.

The awards reception has been postponed to the next academic year, along with the lecture traditionally given by the recipient of the Academic Senate’s highest honor, the Faculty Distinguished Research Award. It goes this year to Nathan Kuppermann, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Four From ΢��Ƶ Elected To American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Four faculty members from the University of California, Davis have been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. They are among 213 scientists, artists, writers and leaders in business, politics and philanthropy to be selected this year.

The new members from ΢��Ƶ are: Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Ralph Hexter; Andreas Albrecht, distinguished professor and chair of the physics department; Professor Christopher Reynolds, department of music; and David Simpson, distinguished professor of English.

Academic Federation Honors Excellence in Teaching, Research
