Football Home Opener Delayed

΢��Ƶ Athletics announced Thursday (Feb. 18) the postponement of next week’s home football game against Cal Poly. The game would have been the first for both teams in the Big Sky Conference’s delayed 2020 season.

Now, the Aggies are set to open play March 6 at Idaho. The Cal Poly game, the first of two games between the rivals in the shortened season, has been moved to March 20 at ΢��Ƶ Health Stadium. March 20 had been an open date in the Aggies’ schedule, so no other adjustments are needed.

΢��Ƶ Chancellor Gary May Announces Departure of Athletics Director Kevin Blue

University of California, Davis, Chancellor Gary S. May announced today that Intercollegiate Athletics Director Kevin Blue has resigned his position effective Dec. 31. He will join Golf Canada in his hometown of Toronto as chief sport officer, where he will lead the national sport development and high-performance programs for golf in Canada, from the Olympics team to the grassroots junior participation programs.

‘Game Changer’ for Athletics, Academics

When you hear the new Edwards Family Athletics Center described as a “game changer,” you might immediately think about our participation in NCAA competition. And you would be right, given the new center’s role in strength training and conditioning, and sports medicine, and as a team facility.

But it is also a game changer for academics for all ΢��Ƶ students; for student-athletes’ personal growth and post-graduation success; for sports medicine for students, staff, faculty and the Davis community; and for collaboration between the Davis campus and ΢��Ƶ Health.
