Police Investigate 3 Burglaries on West Side of Campus

΢��Ƶ police are investigating two burglaries at ΢��Ƶ West Village and The Green at West Village, and another at the Hopkins Services Complex, also west of Highway 113. No suspects had been identified.

The Police Department issued three crime alerts Tuesday (Oct. 11) regarding the incidents. The alerts, also known as Clery notices, required by the federal Clery Act of 1990, are intended to make the campus community aware of serious crimes on campus.

Update March 16: Police reported the stolen vehicle was recovered March 15 in Woodland, and that all three cases remained under investigation.

΢��Ƶ police are investigating an armed carjacking and two other weapons-involved incidents on campus over the last week.

Arrest Made in Alleged Brandishing of Weapon

A woman sought by campus police on suspicion of brandishing a handgun at a facilities staff member at ΢��Ƶ West Village earlier this week has been arrested and charged with brandishing an imitation firearm, police said.

The alleged brandishing occurred between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 25). Police issued a crime alert saying: “Victim was confronted by a suspect who brandished a black handgun at him and rode away on a bicycle.”

Updated: Arrest Made in Armed Incident

Update 5:45 p.m. May 13: Campus police reported the arrest of the suspect identified earlier today in connection with an armed altercation Saturday night (May 12). Police said Sacramento County sheriff's deputies took Manwinder Singh into custody this afternoon, and that he had has been booked at the Yolo County Jail on charges including attempted assault with a deadly weapon and felony threats.

The annual parking permit renewal process is underway, bringing with it rate increases effective July 1 for many permits including the most popular, A, C and L.

There will be no rate increases for carpoolers’ or vanpoolers’ permits, as a reward for staff, faculty and students who choose to ride together, “and to encourage others to explore these mode-share options,” Cliff Contreras said in his annual director’s letter from Transportation Services, or TAPS.
