University of California, Davis, will hold its third annual symposium bringing industry experts, farmers and scholars together to talk about the the growing, distribution and culture of tea throughout the world. Topics including “Yes we CAn! Tea Farming in California,” “From Soil to Cup,” and “Sustaining Societies and Preserving Lost Cultures.” Tea is the most consumed beverage in the world other than water. About four in five of all people worldwide drink tea, according to ΢��Ƶ tea scholars.

The event is free and open to the public.

Symposium Supports Peer Education in Sexual Violence Prevention

University of California students and staff are using what they learned at a recent conference to improve peer education for the prevention of sexual violence.

Nearly 200 attended the Symposium on Peer Education in Prevention of Sexual Violence at the Davis campus April 3, one of the university’s activities highlighting National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

΢��Ƶ Holds Symposium on Marijuana Laws

What:

"Disjointed Regulation: State Efforts to Legalize Marijuana," a ΢��Ƶ Law Review Symposium, will feature scholars discussing major legal issues surrounding the legalization of marijuana in some states. Panel topics include federalism issues, the taxation and regulation of marijuana, and how state legalization could affect criminal justice and incarceration systems. Marijuana use for medicinal purposes is legal in more than 20 U.S. states and in Washington, D.C.
